Visiting scholar Sabuk, leading expert on the sociology of colonial-era settler formations, is running a simulation in Wînipêk. Saturday, July 25, 1pm, downtown.
It’s not too late to register and get all the app setup and participation details, but if you want to just meet us at the onboarding, come to the southeast corner of Rupert and Lily after 12:45 and before 1:15.

It’s an interactive puzzle-solving adventure,
a game akin to a scavenger hunt.
Teams will use a custom app that sends them to find things around the area to “capture” territory. The site is in character and therefore cryptic but use the form
below if you have questions.
Anyone who wishes to better understand the habits and lifeways of settlers in the colonial era should attend. The simulation is family-friendly, you can always decline to participate in aspects that don’t suit you and drop off as needed.
We expect to be wrapping up the simulation after about two hours.
The simulation will require the use of antiquated handheld Colonial Big Tech technology, specifically the Android or iOS platforms. Android needs to be between version 7 to 18, inclusive, and iOS 15 to 28.
If you register early you can gain access to a beta test to make sure you have something compatible.
We will set up a compatibility mesh so these obsolete devices can communicate over the international network, but at least one team member will need a data plan.
To approximate fidelity to the simulated era, we’ll be requesting currency, to be directed to worthy groups who will be announced, but no currency is required.
While registration is not required, doing so will help us plan and address technical problems in advance.
